What former GERD, Acid Reflux, LPR & other GI Conditions are Saying:
I am a male in my 30s and have been a long-time sufferer of gastroesophageal reflux disease for 15-plus years. When these problems began happening I would feel hopeless, the days of endless constant worrying would conquer my daily life. I was fearful about eating certain foods or eating in front of people that I didn’t live with because I didn’t think they would understand my dilemma and daily struggle with this disease.
When the symptoms of my GERD did flare up it would lead to nausea, projectile vomiting, feeling full, and bloated, and I would experience heartburn on top of that.I first sought help in 2008 after coming up empty in trying to find ways to quell these symptoms. I went to a Gastroenterologist and did the whole endoscopy thing. It turned out I just had inflammation in my esophagus but I wanted to feel better so he gave me some free chewable samples of Prevacid, a PPI or proton pump inhibitor.
For a while, it worked and I would chew those like candy to alleviate my symptoms, which always started with nausea.
It wasn’t until one summer July night in 2011 that I took a turn for the worse and developed a new symptom that stemmed from my GERD. I developed shortness of breath.I didn’t know what was happening, I felt this sudden tightness in my chest and felt like I couldn’t breathe. I did everything I could that summer to get the help I needed to feel better and came up empty. My GI said that shortness of breath is not a symptom of GERD, so he made me feel as if I didn’t know what I was talking about.
I went to a cardiologist, a pulmonary specialist and they all said I was fine, that I was breathing normally. That was my last straw. I then turned to the Internet and became my own avid researcher where I researched GERD more thoroughly and found numerous forums where people would post about their experiences having the disease. Lo and behold they had the same symptoms as me, that shortness of breath feeling, that needs to constantly yawn or take a deep breath to feel a sigh of relief because what I would feel in my esophagus was causing this discomfort and interfering with my ability to breathe normally.
I also suffer from General Anxiety Disorder so that may have been exacerbating the problem. During the summer of 2011 when this breathing problem became an issue I couldn’t hold down solid foods. I was literally on a liquid diet for a couple of months. I was depressed and losing weight.
My GI had prescribed me the PPI Omeprazole. It did literally nothing for me and it worsened my GERD symptoms. Once I began taking these pills I started feeling unwanted side effects. My anxiety was through the roof, I was having some panic attacks, I was weeping, I couldn’t eat, sleep right, I was irritable. It was a total nightmare. After a few months, I stopped taking the PPIs and felt some withdrawal symptoms. It was a real conundrum. After that, I stopped trusting doctors and the pharmaceutical industry. For the next decade, I gave up trying to treat my GERD. I learned to deal with it and conformed to the change in my breathing, which in turn affected my everyday life and ability to be the best version of myself.
It was uncomfortable most days. The only thing I was taking were over-the-counter products like Mylanta & Tums for example, which also did zilch for me. All this time I just stopped caring about trying to get my GERD under control until several months ago, I met Astrid from healyounaturally.com and finally began my healing journey.
Astrid is a well-researched presence in the health and wellness industry. She specializes in tackling most health problems with a natural/holistic approach but she emphasizes that finding out the root causes is paramount. At first, I had my doubts and perhaps I still do because of my previous failures to get a handle on the disease, but she opened my eyes to other possibilities and showed me that there is a light at the end of the tunnel if you’re willing to keep an open mind regarding her guidance and put in the hard work yourself because at the end of the day, only you can be your own self healer, not some Doctor with a PhD.
Knowledge is very nuanced and ambiguous so there is always more than one way to do something just as long as there is a will, there will most certainly be a way.
Many long-term sufferers of acid reflux and GERD can benefit from her teachings and may eventually fully heal your GERD. Astrid herself has been a long-term sufferer of GERD. Due to this, she has done her due diligence to mitigate the detrimental symptoms of the disease, ultimately curing herself with the knowledge she has absorbed and utilized to manifest these optimal results.
She is looking to help others do the same. Astrid will always keep it real with you and won’t lie to you like most doctors would do because they get their commissions from Big Pharma to prescribe these PPIs that will do absolutely nothing to eradicate your GERD. Unfortunately, there is no way other than to go down a functional medicinal/holistic approach. There’s a reason we have foods and supplements that are organic, non-GMO, unpasteurized, grass-fed, fermented, and nonartificial because they are meant to help aid in digestion and that’s what GERD generally is, a digestive issue.
Astrid’s course on GERD will give you the essential tools and weapons to help one get their GERD under control. I won’t lie to you, the only way for people to manage their symptoms is with lifestyle change and consistency. It’s akin to if a person wants to get in shape and exercise. That can’t happen unless you change your diet so the same rules apply for GERD.
I have been healing my GERD for the last few months that I’ve known Astrid and she has given me hope that I can feel better than what I was feeling before I started incorporating the remedies and foods in my diet that she recommends. I have noticed significant changes in my symptoms and you can too without help from a Doctor.
Again, she has done the research, cross-references, and always cites her sources so this isn’t a load of BS like most of these other websites will propagate. She is very authentic and sincere. Astrid is all about solutions and is the professional to give her clients the essential tools they need to heal over time. She sincerely wants her clients to feel better and give her the positive feedback she’s waiting to hear as a result of her knowledge. This is why I strongly recommended people heed her information to go down a path of indulging in natural foods and remedies over those useless expensive PPIs, which remain to be a total ripoff, especially if you don’t have the best health insurance.
The choice is yours, do you want to heal your GERD the right way or do you want to continue taking PPIs where you don’t fix the root cause and develop Barrett’s Esophagus followed by the C word we all fear and hate so much?
Make the right choice and select unconventional methods. Thank you.
